Center Baptist ChurchLansing, Iowa "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." JOHN 3:16

Center Baptist Church is located in a beautiful rural area of northeastern Iowa in Allamakee County near the town of Lansing. Nestled between hills of green and Village Creek and only 9 miles from Waukon and 8 miles from Lansing, the route to the church is via dusty gravel roads that wind from the 'ridges' to the valley. The church is bordered by Village Creek which flows a few miles past Village Creek Bible Camp before emptying into the mighty Mississippi River.

The church was the second Swedish Baptist church to be planted in America, and is the oldest existing Baptist General Conference (BGC) church in the country! Established in 1853, the congregation  celebrated their 150th anniversary on the weekend of August 8-10, 2003. The founding fathers have long since gone ahead, but they left behind a legacy that has led to many other churches in the Iowa Baptist Conference, spread throughout the state.
